I think I went there on a Sunday and must have seen it. Can't be sure though.
This place has some unique interesting flavors that changes. It's a small shop, but the employees were friendly and helpful. They give free samples to try. We got the green tea with mochi. The mochi was good and chewy. I wish the green tea had a stronger tea flavor. One scoop in a cup cost $4.75.
Best strawberry ice cream I've ever had, and the fresh-made waffle cones were really good as well.
Amazing flavour selection (try the speculaas!) and faster service than smitten which makes everything to order and can take ages. Loved the waffle bowl too! And the smell of waffles was divine! A shame that the kids size serving (a great idea!) don't seem to come with homemade cones, unlike the bowls and larger portions. Will be back to sample more flavours.
Best ice cream ever, good and quick service. I visit this shop every time I have a chance
The vanilla ice cream tasted like old expired yogurt, and I LOVE Vanilla, but could not love this one. Line was long and was a complete waste of my money. Better go to either Creme or Salt and Straw near by.
Not a ton of flavors but some really unique ones. I tried the saffron and really enjoyed it. Staff working are very nice and patient and let you try as many flavors as you want. They didn't seem irritated that my friend didn't end up purchasing a cone. If you are looking for a unique dessert during your time in Palo Alto - this is certainly an option. They don't have a lot of seating; but there are a few chairs up front.
The speculicious is my go to. It's got a creamy cinnamon-y flavor with bits of ginger bread in it.
I expect ice cream to have a creamy texture. The ice cream at scoop had the texture of gravel. It was thoroughly freezer burned. In addition it's almost $6 for an outrageously tiny portion. If you're going to have such a high price point I should at least expect effort be made in terms of quality
We had went to Palo Alto for salt & straw but there was huge line and after waiting for 5-10 mins, we decided to find another place and Scoop showed up. So we decided to give it a try, I would say it was pretty good although we didn't expect a lot. I really liked cardamom ginger flavor which had taste of fresh ginger and my friend liked peach and mango sorbet which had very refreshing taste. I would definitely go there again.
HUGE fan of the speculous flavor here!Unfortunately, that's as far as my fandom really goes, as I feel like this place is really expensive for the portion and there are similar or better flavors at others. Definitely would stop by if I was in the area, but didn't find anything too special about this place. It's also nor your typical nitrogen ice cream spot, so you don't get the satisfaction of your ice cream getting 'flash frozen' right before you enjoy it....BUT COOKIE BUTTER!
Flavors weren't that good this time around, probably better to get them when they are freshly made.
Speculicious and coconut ice cream, you can't find it anywhere else! Delicious and fast and fresh. Small selection of flavors, but definitely come back for those 2
Wonderful ice cream. Highly recommend.
Loved this place for one reason: the taste! I saw black sesame ice cream here for the first time and being a fan of sweet snacks made of sesame back in India, couldn't help ordering it. Also tasted the brown sugar-banana which too was very real in flavour and the aftertaste was exactly like I'd eaten a banana. Can't wait to visit again and taste the rest of their yummy looking ice-creams!
Go there if you like your milkshake with all milk no ice cream for 11.50$
Love the shakes and ice cream. Not doing samples during these times.
Can't wait to go back.
The Bourbon vanilla is amazing. All the ice cream is great! They have some hand dipped 61% dark chocolate cones that can add to the experience. If you like espresso, they also have the option for affogatos. If you like ice cream, you will be very happy with any choice you make here.
Ice cream is very creamy and rich. They make it with liquid nitrogen which they claim makes is extra smooth and dense, but I could really tell the difference over other high end ice cream. Their most popular flavors are the bourbon vanilla with caramel and speculious. The flavors we're good but I didn't get as much flavor as I was hoping for.
I loved the black sesame ice cream, reminded me of the ones I get in Taiwan. Also unique is the Speculicious with chunks of gingerbread cookies.
Ice cream tasted terrible like rotten cow milk. Worst ice cream ever!!
I tasted creamy, sweet vanilla heaven in their ice cream. You can't go wrong with Brown Sugar Banana (with real banana bits!) or, my personal favorite: Sweet Cream.Speculicious has (I believe) sugar cookie crumbles in it and it's also a winner, in my books. That said, if you're looking to take some home, get ready to pay out. It's $20 a quart or, it's $8 for a pint. While I appreciate the $4 discount when it comes to buying a quart, if I felt so inclined, I'd march to a Safeway and get a quart of Three Twins vanilla and call it even. But I don't feel so inclined. That Sweet Cream can make an ice cream addict out of you. For that kind of quality, $8 a pint...I guess you can shrug it off. 😋All in all: run, don't walk - to Scoop. You certainly won't be disappointed.
This place has the most amazing ice creams. Also it smells like waffle cone from a mile away *drooling* our favorite flavors are speculicious (hands down the best ice cream flavour ever) and hella nutella with more nutella on top. Just give it a try you wont be sorry. There is place to sit right across the street.
Tried three flavours and they were all too sweet. One of the very rare occasions when I didn't finish an ice cream. Nice staff, though.
Real good ice cream that's real expensive but you get what you pay for.
This place gets top marks from the locals - and they're right. Though it may lack an abundance of flavors, it doesn't lack in quality nor taste. I had the spéculoos and fudge peppermint. There is no bite/freeze stale, the ice cream is fresh as evidenced by the two individuals making ice cream while I contemplated my choice. Limited seating.
Everytime I walk past this place I think the amazing smell lures me in. I wish the prices weren't so high but I'll be the first one today that it's totally worth it.
It's decent ice cream, but the quality and quantity served don't warrant the price. The line was at least short.
We tried two scoops on a cone for $8.50. Mango and Ginger mixed with Cardamom. Outstanding taste. High quality.
Pricey but all Palo Alto ice cream shops are like that. This place is close to Salt & Straw and usually has a much shorter line. I really like the Speculicious flavor they have (tastes like gingerbread cookies & cream).
Mediocre gelato and not COVID19 safe. No discipline of customers being served. No masks, under 6'.
The speculicious flavor is by far my favorite. I also really enjoy their valentines day ice cream flavor of strawberry and red velvet cake ice cream. Let’s just say I came back frequently while they had that flavor in rotation!
Quality has declined over the past 2 years. They seem to have discontinued their best flavor, avocado. As of 2018, the ice cream leaders in the Bay Area are Tin Pot Creamery and Humphry Slocombe. (April 2018)
This is my favorite ice cream place! Whenever I'm in town I try to go here. I love the nutella flavor with a chocolate dipped cone. They always give generous samples. It's a bit pricey though.
The ice cream hear is truly some of the best you will find in downtown palo alto.
One of the most delicious things I've ever eaten.
We love this place after a nice bike ride! We enjoyed many flavors as well as sitting outside. The staff was very nice and helped us pick out gluten-free flavors. Delicious ice cream. Would definitely recommend!!!
I don't like high overrun ice cream, so this was absolutely delicious. The variety of flavors was also quite good.
Great ice cream and waffle cone. Hardest part was choosing a flavor they were all so good! A bit pricey, but worth it.
Very good icecream. Interesting flavors and nice owners. Worth visiting
Delicious flavors and fantastic texture. The pumpkin pie ice cream was like eating actual pumpkin pie. Amazing!
Great American-Style ice cream! Very tasty and creamy. The waffle cone is made in house!
Total waste of money, calories, and time. Weired flavored and overpriced.
Ammazing icecream homemade
The flavors were great, and the ice cream was super creamy! I got mint & cookies and hella nutella.
Excellent ice cream and a variety of uncommon flavors. Staff were pleasant and willing to provide samples.Had an excellent brown sugar banana scoop of ice-cream on a waffle cone. 10/10 would stop here again.
really good ice cream with creative flavors as well as classics but a little expensive.
The green tea ice cream tastes like real green tea. Yuck!
My girlfriend and I went there on 4th of July. We called first to see if the shop was open and the person on the phone was very friendly and helping. There were an array of good flavors. I liked the Thai iced tea, peanut butter cup, and mint cookie flavors. I went with the peanut butter cup. This shop composts, too, for those environmentally friendly folks out there. This shop is worth a visit; so, stop in!
Fast service, quality flavors
